Perspectives in Motion: Focus on Mali

African Cinema Basel is going to present a special on Mali. Soussaba Cissé - a young and engaged filmmaker from Bamako - will present her short films.

After the screenings there will be time for discussion.

Finye is the story about the student couple Batrou and Bah struggling against elder's authority in the context of a military regime. The film from Souleyman Cissé has been produced in 1982 and is of shocking relevance today.

Together with Soussaba Cissé a discussion of this classical work of her father will take place. 

No entrance fees will be charged.
