Call For Application: FOCUS10

After the great success of FOCUS09 in June 2009, FOCUS is setting out to launch its second edition!

FOCUS10 is designed to present and connect the vibrant African art scene to the world.

Conceived as a cutting-edge complement to Art Basel (June 16-20, 2010), the fair showcases galleries representing African artists and welcomes publishers, institutions and other cultural actors involved in the creative African network.

FOCUS10 is aiming to create a show with a sharp curatorial vision. In this respect, galleries featuring artists from Africa and its Diaspora are encouraged to apply for the show with a specific project. In a global context where African galleries remain largely marginalized from mainstream art fairs, FOCUS10 will provide African artists, galleries and art professionals a unique platform during the world’s most important art fair.

Galleries can download the application form and guidelines here. All galleries will be considered on the merit of their application and their exhibition concept for FOCUS10. All other applicants please contact the Show Management by e-mail.

FOCUS10 management and curatorial board are looking forward to receiving exciting proposals that will change the face of art in Basel.
