Description: The Department of Gender & Sexuality Studies at the University of California, Irvine seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Gender & Sexuality Studies with a focus on Black feminist theory and cultural studies. Open to a variety of interdisciplinary and methodological approaches that foreground: media, technology, data, surveillance, digital activism; critical studies of race, gender, sexuality and Black feminist theory, including Black queer/trans/sexuality studies; Black feminism in the global south; Black diaspora studies; critical race theory; decolonial feminisms; or disability studies to complement Department’s existing strengths in feminist transnational analysis, critical interdisciplinarity, and cultural theory.
Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand by June 30, 2021.
