DESCRIPTION:A talk by Dunja Herzog on her artistic work concerning the inte
 rsections between Swiss missionary activity and trade history in Africa\, 
 spanning the colonial period\, the era of independence and into the 21st c
 entury.\\r\\nThe exhibition "Portheads and Riverbeds" connects local commu
 nities and international perspectives to highlight Basel’s role as a hub
  of trade and culture. The project brings together artists from Switzerlan
 d\, Germany\, England\, and Sweden to explore the history of Basel’s har
 bor and its current situation. In dialogue with port workers\, activists\,
  and artists\, an exchange emerges about the social and economic repurposi
 ng of the harbor areas. Portheads and Riverbeds invites visitors and parti
 cipants to reflect on their relationship to land and water\, local identit
 ies\, and global movements.
