As part of Dominique White’s exhibition “All Great Powers Collapse from the Centre” at the Kunsthalle Basel, Screen Dialogs, in cooperation with the Stadtkino Basel, is presenting an art and film program.

The program features John Akomfrah’s film essay “The Last Angel of History”, in which Afrofuturist and Afropessimist perspectives on history, memory, and the future unfold.

Following the screening, a discussion will address selected themes and questions from the film and the exhibition.

The evening will be moderated by Ananda Jade in conversation with Serafina Andrew. As a photographer, cultural studies scholar, and film scholar, Serafina Andrew conducts research at the intersection of visual culture, postcolonial theory, and digital media.
