As-samt is silence structured by sound. A musical continuum that results from the sequence of variations. Electronic, minimal, with African and Arabic influences. Hamid Khadiri's Moroccan background opens up a playground for a contemporary interpretation of Western minimal music.

Together they interweave different traditions: The singer, percussionist and composer Hamid Khadiri was born in Kenitra, Morocco, in the heart of the Chaabi, Gnawa, Andalusian Tarab, and Rai music cultures. He accompanies his meditative, repetitive singing with the Gnawa Sintir, or Riq. The warm sound of the Swiss jazz trumpeter and sound artist Werner Hasler ensnares Khadiri minimally.
