In his current trilogy “Atlas / the Mountain”, “Magec / the Desert” and finally “Awessu / the Sea”, Moroccan choreographer Radouan Mriziga devotes himself to the mountains, the desert and the sea as untamed spaces beyond human control. “Magec / the Desert” explores vast, arid landscapes and rethinks the relationship between man and nature. From the Sahara to the Thar Desert to the steppes of Central Asia, Mriziga's choreography considers the desert not as a void but as a source of knowledge - a space that demands humility and reciprocity rather than domination. It explores the rhythms, ecosystems and forms of knowledge of the desert, embodied by symbols such as the sundial, which measures time through light, shadow and landscape. Like the desert itself, the performance defies unambiguous interpretation and instead opens up a multi-layered, sensual and spiritual experience. Magec / the Desert invites the audience to come to rest, to perceive the intelligence of nature and to reconnect with the essential.
