“I Fell in Love” combines storytelling, a listening session and a reading to create an interactive documentary theater performance about the life of Egyptian musician Sayyid Darwish. The latter is considered the father of Egyptian pop music and one of Egypt's greatest musicians and composers. 

The multidisciplinary Egyptian artist Osama Helmy (OzOz) invites you on this journey from moment to moment, from rare vinyl records, to vintage record players, photos and rare books, each piece carrying its own memories. In the original recordings, Darwish's voice sounds almost alive.

OzOz is the founder of the Audioz Archive, which includes a diverse collection of music, archival materials and home recordings using analog playback devices - all accessible to artists and researchers.
