Peter Narh is an Environmental Social Scientist at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, where he researches African land and natural resources conservation and governance.
In his talk, he will critically reflect on digital processes for land administration that have increasingly become integral to natural resources administration and governance in Ghana. Digitalization is expected to enhance efficiency in land transactions and tenure security to facilitate investments and growth outcomes for the economy. Yet, it is evident that digitalization processes and outcomes are mediated by traditional land ownership and tenure systems. In this public lecture, he will engage with how these mediating factors affect the digitalization of land administration in Ghana, highlighting outcomes for different groups of people.
