Opening: "In Dialogue with Benin. Art, Colonialism and Restitution"
On August 23, 2024, Museum Rietberg will open the new exhibition “In Dialogue with Benin. Art, Colonialism and Restitution”. The vernissage will take place on August 22, 2024 at 18:00, with performance, music and African food.
The exhibition explores the handling of colonial collections, injustice and responsibility, memory and healing and was created as part of the Benin Initiative Switzerland (BIS) and shows the processes and results of this collaborative research project. The exhibition will be accompanied by a joint BIS publication in German and English, which you can access via the following link: www.scheidegger-spiess.ch
