Job: Ph.D. position in Economic Geography

Job Description

The successful applicant will be part of the Economic Geography research group and join a dynamic, internationally oriented research team. We are looking for candidates who have an interest in critical research of global commodity chains, value chains and production networks.

Your main tasks include designing and realizing your own Ph.D. project, contributing to our teaching program and participating in our regular research-related activities. Applicants should have ambitions to be recognized internationally (publications, conferences). They are expected to hold an excellent master’s degree in human geography or any other relevant social science discipline and be proficient in English. Starting date is 01 September 2019 or as agreed upon. The position is for three years with possibilities for extension. The salary is commensurate with the regulations of the Swiss National Science Foundation (47’040 - 50’040 Swiss francs p.a.). Funding for project-related fieldwork is available.
