Three Doctoral Fellowships: African Intellectual Biographies

Institute for Humanities in Africa (HUMA), Cape Town, SA

Funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has created the possibility of appointing one (1) postdoctoral research fellow on a full-time one-year contract who will work within the “African Intellectual Biographies” initiative.

The Doctoral Research Fellow will be expected to contribute broadly to HUMA’s intellectual agenda and operation in respect of each of its three objectives: by pursuing individual and collaborative research, under the auspices of HUMA’s research theme “on being human” with a focus on “African Intellecual Biographies”; producing research outputs; and convening and contributing to a range of intellectual events within and beyond the academy. The HUMA Doctoral Programme includes (non-credit bearing) training on critical theoretical and methodological issues, which doctoral fellows will be required to attend.

Deadline of Applications: 25 February 2022.
