Publication: Speaking Through Houses: Interweaving Biography, Property and Personhood in Urban Zimbabwe

cover

In her JJ Bachofen Lecture in 2019, Amanda Hammar looked at houses from an anthropological point of view. Hammar further builds upon theories of houses as constituants of people's biographies and "how they embody interconnections between individual trajectories, kinship and the state".

The 5th JJ Bachofen Lecture in Anthropology at the University of Basel by Amanda Hammar is now published:

Amanda Hammar, Speaking Through Houses: Interweaving Biography, Property and Personhood in Urban Zimbabwe, JJ Bachhofen Lecture, no 5 (Institute of  Social Anthropology, University of Basel, 2020).
