4 PhD Positions in Geography and Sustainable Development

The Land Systems and Sustainable Land Management (LS-SLM) Research Unit at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, invites applications for four PhD positions with a maximum duration of 4 years, as part of the SUSTAINFORESTS project, beginning 1st September 2021. The candidates will join an interdisciplinary team working on a comparative research project addressing the dynamics, functions and sustainable management of forest patches in agricultural landscapes of the West African countries of Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon. The project is funded by the European Research Commission Consolidator Grant, and involves collaborators from various research institutes in West Africa.
