Basel STUDY: New CAS programs in anti-corruption and asset recovery

The Basel Institute on Governance in conjunction with the University of Basel now offers advanced postgraduate qualifications in anti-corruption and asset recovery. The programs combine advanced research, real-world insights, practical examples and hands-on activities.
The Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) program on Mastering Today's Anti-Corruption Challenges focuses on real-life corruption and governance problems. It:
- adopts a holistic approach to understanding corruption challenges affecting governance at different levels;
- is tailored to individuals working in the public and private sectors, civil society and the international community;
- will help participants to understand and equip themselves with tools and approaches to promote anti-corruption and integrity in their daily work.
The course combines insights from political science, behavioural science, law and economics with experience derived from actual projects and cases. Participants explore both long-standing tools and cutting-edge approaches to counter corruption in diverse contexts. The six-month course starts in September 2025.
The second certificate programme on Combating Financial Crime Through Asset Recovery is aimed at professionals in any sector seeking to better understand how to "follow the money" – and get it back. Led by experts from our International Centre for Asset Recovery, the course offers a practice-oriented understanding of global financial crime and current asset recovery methods. More details on this course and the start date will be provided shortly.
