Call for Panels: Activisms in Africa – Peace, Rights and New Networks

3rd International Conference "Activisms in Africa" (Recife, 23-25 February 2021)

In this historical moment that the African continent is witnessing profound transformations, that threaten the conquers and liberties, individual and collective, achieved after the anti-colonial struggles, the civil society and social movements represents a fundamental element of transformation for a more inclusive society. To better understand those struggles, its innovation, networks and building capacity, the African Studies Institute of the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil), the Federal University of Paraiba (Brazil), the Centre for International Studies – University Institute of Lisbon (Portugal) and the Centre for Social Studies Amilcar Cabral (Guinea-Bissau) promote together the 3rd International Conference Activism in Africa, in 23, 24 and 25 of February of 2021. The Conference aims to debate the social movements and activisms in Africa and the perspectives of change and transformation promoted by those movements.

The organizing commission of the 3rd International Conference Activisms in Africa invites to all interested in submitting a thematic panel proposal. The commission receives proposal from 1 April 2020 to 31 May 2020.
