Call for papers: "Language, People and Soŋay–Zarma–Dendi Culture : Integration and Consolidation of Peace in the Sahel" – Deadline extended
International Symposium on Language, Culture, History, Values and other Riches of the Soŋay-Zarma-Dendi, 25–27 April 2025, Niamey, Niger
As part of the valuation of the Soŋay language and culture, an international cultural meeting was organized in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, in March 2019 which recommended the organization of an edition in Niamey in order to perpetuate the initiative. It is in this context that the international cultural symposium is scheduled to be held in Niamey in April 2025. The scientific component of this symposium relates to the organization of an international scientific conference on the theme "Language, people and culture Soŋay–Zarma–Dendi integration and consolidation of peace in the Sahel". This conference is to be held from April 25 to 27, 2025 in Niamey, Niger.
It is the continuation of series of symposium organized recently in Burkina Faso, Mali (March 2006 and March 2007) and in Niger (December 2009). The axes of the scientific event tackle all aspects of the communities’ life: language, culture, education, history and settlement, security, literature, art, economy and development, climate change, water resources, etc. The scientific committee set up for this purpose invites researchers, academics, civil society, writers, traditionalists and all other qualified people to respond to the present call for communication.

Dans le cadre de la valorisation de la langue et la culture soŋay, une rencontre culturelle internationale a été organisée à Ouagadougou en mars 2019 qui a recommandé l’organisation d’une édition à Niamey en vue de pérenniser l’initiative. C’est dans ce cadre qu’une rencontre culturelle internationale est programmée pour se tenir à Niamey en avril 2025. Le volet scientifique de cette rencontre se rapporte à l’organisation d’un colloque scientifique international sur le thème « Langue, peuple et culture soŋay–zarma–dendi : intégration et consolidation de la paix au Sahel ». Ce colloque, qui se tiendra du 25 au 27 avril 2025 à Niamey au Niger, vient poursuivre la série de colloques organisés ces dernières années au Burkina Faso, au Mali (mars 2006 et mars 2007) et au Niger (décembre 2019).
Les axes de l’événement scientifique abordent tous les aspects de la vie des communautés : langue, culture, éducation, histoire et peuplement, sécurité, littérature, art, économie et développement, environnement, changement climatique, ressources en eau, etc. Le comité scientifique, mis en place à cet effet, invite les chercheurs, les universitaires, la société civile, les écrivains, les traditionnistes, les traditionnalistes et toutes autres personnes qualifiées, à répondre au présent appel à communication.
