Gerda Henkel Research Grants: Project grants and scholarships

The Gerda Henkel Foundation calls for applications for research project grants and research scholarships in the "historical humanities" (archaeology, history of art, historical Islamic studies, history, history of law, history of science, prehistory and early history). The application deadline is 24 November 2022.

Applications for research scholarships can be made directly by Postdocs or scholars with Post Doctoral Lecture Qualification. A research scholarship is usually applied for by one scholar who will work on a specific project on his own. An institutional affiliation is not necessary. Support does not depend on the applicant's nationality or location. The funding period is generally between one and 24 months.

The grants for research projects involve, depending on the type of project, the assumption of costs for personnel, travel, materials and/or other costs.

The application deadline for scholarships and research Projects is 1 June 2022 (no deadlines for smaller funding amounts of up to 25,000 Euros).

The Gerda Hendel Foundation also Awards about 50 two-year PhD scholarships each year. Applications for PhD scholarships are considered throughout the year.
