Henri-Michel Yéré wins Rotary - PEN Club International Poetry Award
Henri-Michel Yéré has been awarded the Rotary - PEN Club International Award for his poetry book “Polo kouman/Polo parle” published in 2023. The Rotary - PEN Club International awards were presented for the first time in Paris on 4 October 2024.
“Polo kouman/Polo parle” published in 2023. The book is written in both Nouchi and French and draws on the most private aspects of both languages. Blending past, present and future “Polo kouman/Polo parle” demonstrates that poetry possesses the power of transcending the linearity of time and multiplying our visions.
The Rotary - PEN Club International Awards, one for poetry and the other for prose, recognize the literary quality and innovative character of a work. "Polo kouman/Polo parle" by Henri-Michel Yéré (Editions d'En bas) and "Suite orphique. 99 quatrains" by François Cheng (Gallimard) shared the Poetry award 2024. The awards ceremony took place on 4 October 2024 at the Bedford Hotel in Paris.
