Visiting fellowships: ”Global Crossings: Islands and Corridors, Life and Goods in Globality Research”
Institute for European Global Studies, University of Basel
The Institute for European Global Studies welcomes applications for visiting fellowships (3 months) for the academic year 2021/2022 (beginning in autumn 2021). The call for application is situated in the context of the Katekisama exchange program of the universities of Basel, Bonn (Germany) and Waseda, Tokyo (Japan). The thematic focus is on ”Global Crossings: Islands and Corridors, Life and Goods in Globality Research”.
The thematic focus of the call for applications on “Global Crossings: Islands and Corridors, Lives and Goods in Globality Research” addresses the consequences and implications of transition processes, which concern both the divergence between the mobility of goods and the enclosure of people, as well as the ways in which civil and human rights are influenced or restricted bydigital technologies. It thus aims to introduce critical reflections on corridors and connectivities beyond borders as a new field of post-interdisciplinary research.
The fellowships are intended for mid-career researchers. In order to apply, prospective fellows must have completed their doctorate at the time of application and have a proven track record in the indicated research area with a focus on the global context.
The closing date for applications is April 15, 2021.
