CROSSROADS Mzantsi Encounters - Jazz from South Africa at the Jazzcampus Basel

Three concert evenings at the Jazzcampus Basel in the framework of CROSSROADS

Three concert evenings at the Jazzcampus offer a glimpse at the fascinating and rich jazz scene of South Africa (Mzantsi) and introduce young artists from that country performing with musicians from Switzerland. While for pianist Thandi Ntuli this is the first visit to Switzerland, Vuma Levin (guitar) Mandla Mlangeni (trumpet, flugel horn) and Kesivan Naidoo (drums) have been involved in several collaborations.

In the framework of the conference Crossroads—International perspectives on culture, art and society, organized in collaboration between the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia in cooperation with Kaserne Basel, Festival Antigel in Geneva and the Centre for African Studies at the University of Basel.
