Isambulo means revelation in isiZulu. The outstanding, inspired South African composer and saxophonist, who recorded his third album in Basel at the end of last year, understands his music as a map to unknown destinations, inspired by memory, in search of time and hoping for revelation. In synergy with their superb Swiss rhythm section, he and the young Austrian singer Anna Widauer bring their deep musical connection to the fore perfectly in expert dialogues and powerful shared statements.
