The Skyjack collective, featuring jazz musicians from South Africa and Switzerland, brings their release tour for “Light Cycle” to the bird’s eye. The collaboration of different cultures and seasoned musicians serves as a catalyst, unleashing an explosion of driving rhythms infused with Cape Jazz influences, expressive solos, and rich harmonies. Marc Stucki and Andreas Tschopp’s exuberant interplay contrasts beautifully with Kyle Shepherd’s lyrical piano and Shane Cooper’s resonant bass, while Jonno Sweetman’s energetic drumming forms the vibrant backbone of this exhilarating performance.
