This public event at the Museum der Kulturen Basel will open with a discussion between Mark Goodale (University of Lausanne), Anna Schmid (Museum der Kulturen Basel), and George Paul Meiu (University of Basel) on "Anthropology and the New World Order". The discussion will be followed by an apéro.

The event marks the launch of "Ethnographic Imagination Basel" (EIB), a podcast initiative of the Institute of Social Anthropology at the University of Basel. EIB encourages broader public engagement with anthropology by promoting ethnography as both a method of scholarly inquiry and a mode of political imagination. It aims to foster critical reflection on the shifting paradigms of the present through alternative concepts and questions, offering tools for deeper intercultural understanding and more ethical ways of being in the world.
