Colloquium

Round-table Discussion: Decolonising Collections? On the politics and practices of post-colonial heritage, restitution and knowledge production

Namibian and Southern African Studies Research Colloquium

With Museum, Library and Archive curators from Namibia & Switzerland

The lively debates on cultural heritage restitution and repatriation receive low priority in Switzerland. This Round Table addressing a general public invites museum curators and heritage policy makers from Namibia and Switzerland to foster a debate on decolonising collections in Switzerland and rethinking post-colonial approaches to collections, curation, cooperation and participation.
With Martha Akawa (University of Namibia), Samuel Bachmann (Historisches Museum Bern), Sandra Ferracuti (Linden-Museum Stuttgart) Thomas Laely (Völkerkundemuseum Zürich), Jeremy Silvester (Museums Association of Namibia).
