The “Baselfo.ch” website documents a collaborative excursion project on the legacy of the Basel Mission in Ghana and Basel as well as southern Germany. The website features students’ blogposts on their research and travel experiences.

In Twi, the most widely-spoken language in Ghana, “Baselfo” (plural) or “Baselnii” (singular) is the term for persons associated with the Basel Mission (BM) tradition. In 2024, a collaborative teaching project brought together students and faculty from Switzerland and Ghana to research the heritage of the Basel Mission. The website includes a reflection on the research trip in January, when Basel-based students explored traces of the Basel Mission in southern Ghana together with colleagues from the University of Ghana and the Akrofi-Christaller Institute. In July, the joint excursion continued, travelling to Basel and southern Germany. The website features students’ blogposts on their research and travel experiences; a second batch of contributions is to follow in the upcoming weeks. So stay tuned!
