Centre for
African Studies

The Centre for African Studies Basel coordinates Africa-related teaching and research at the University of Basel and its partner institutions. It is an internationally recognized Centre for interdisciplinary research and offers a Master and a PhD in African Studies as consecutive university degrees, as well as a continuing education programme for professionals.

The Centre for African Studies Basel promotes the exchange between disciplines, faculties and institutions. Among our associate members are the the Basler Afrika Bibliographien (BAB), the Basel Institute on Governance, and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH).
