Focus on South Africa with three different bands on the occasion of the conference "Cultural relations between Switzerland and South Africa, 1948–1994"

Set 1 (20:30) - Feya Faku Quintet

During his guest residence in Basel in 2021, the legendary trumpeter Feya Faku celebrated his comeback in our club after a heavy health crisis and produced a wonderful live album.

Line-up: Feya Faku: trumpet/flugelhorn, Sisonke Xonti: tenor sax, Keenan Ahrends: guitar, Romy Brauteseth: bass, Dominic Egli: drums / special guest Makaya Ntshoko

Set 2 (21:45) - Dominic Egli’s Plurism

Based on friendship and trust, PLURISM unites influences of various traditions, collective improvisation and individual statements to a coherent sound image.
