The biggest rock band in Zambia in the 1970s is playing at Sudhaus, with original lead singer Jagari and keyboardist Patrick Mwondela.
W.I.T.C.H. founded the new genre Zamrock back in the 70s. They combined African rhythms and village songs with the rock of the Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath as well as the soul music of James Brown. Lead singer Emanuel "Jagari" Chanda fired up the audience with daring stage dives and wild dances, while the band ignited the atmosphere with their psychedelic rock sound and African rhythms. They released countless singles and seven albums until the early 1980s. Since 2017, the over-60-year-old Jagari has been touring the world with W.I.T.C.H., together with keyboardist Patrick Mwondela (who joined the band in the late 1970s) and incredible musicians from the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland such as Jacco Gardner, Nico Mauskovic, Stefan Lilov, JJ Whitefield and others.
Before and after the concert, DJ Rainer (Konzeptlos) will be spinning dusty, crackling sounds.
