Lunch Talk: "I solve problems through art and design"

with Vitjitua Ndjiharine

Vitjitua Ndjiharine from Namibia is a multidisciplinary visual artist. Her work is a culmination of her skills as a painter, illustrator, visual designer, art director and front end web development. Born in Upstate New York to Namibian parents and raised in Namibia, Vitjitua draws inspiration from different cultural sources to create work that is insightful.

Her most recent work explores various strategies of critical engagement with problematic historical content by deconstructing and re-contextualizing text and images found within colonial photo archives.  Vitjitua Ndjiharine will talk about her concept of working and her challenges as Namibian visual artist, including a slide presentation of a selection of her works. She will give an overview to her general practice and also draw on the Art scene in Namibia.
