Nigeria – Interfaith conflict or climate war?
Nigeria’s Northern and central states are sliding deeper into crisis. Environmental degradation caused by climate change and rapid population growth have led to disputes over land and water. These tensions have also intensified a long-running interfaith conflict between the predominantly Muslim Fulani herders and some Christian Hausa farmers.
Nigerian peacebuilding experts directly involved in bridging the different ethnic and religious divides will share their experiences and insights on how to deal with the effects of the violence, restore justice and build sustainable peace.
