Staging Times – Inter-African encounters between photography and theatre on the theme of time
As part of the Staging Times project between 2019 and 2020, two female photographers, one photographer and three theater professionals from six African countries dealt with the subject of time in three groups of two. The design of the project followed a ping-pong format: First, three series of photographs were made, which were sent to the project partners from the theater. They took the pictures as a starting point for developing their respective staging. In a second step, the theater performances again inspired the photographers to take another photo series. This dialogue between the artists resulted in six photo series and three theater productions.
