The Critical Race and Ethnic Studies cres.ucsc.edu at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach occasional courses in Critical Race and Ethnic Studies.

Pofessionally active and versatile teachers are seeked who are conversant with recent trends in ethnic studies and have the ability to teach courses that include significant group discussion. Candidates for this pool should be able to teach courses in one or more the following subject areas:

• Critical analysis of race; colorblindness and post-racialism
• Critical analysis of the limitations of multiculturalism
• The intersection of race and ethnicity with categories such as gender, sexuality, class, nationalism, indigeneity, and citizenship
• Historical discourses of difference underwriting social inequalities and movements to redress those inequalities
• Research methods and writing in critical race and ethnic studies

Candidates whose courses would provide a comparative or transnational approach to these topics are particularly welcomed.
