Call for project proposals: Solution-oriented research for development (SOR4D) programme

Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) launch new research programme for sustainable development. The SOR4D programme supports transdisciplinary research in collaboration with developing countries.

The SOR4D programme is open to all disciplines from the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, health and life sciences. Proposals must explicitly aim at systemic solutions that simultaneously address several of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

A total budget of CHF 19 million is available for the SOR4D programme. The research phase will last three years, followed by an additional year for pilot testing and scaling out of initiatives to accelerate transformation. Projects will be selected in a two-stage process. Pre-proposals must be submitted by 2 May 2022, 17:00 (Swiss local time) via the mySNF platform.
