Robert Kappel highlights Samir Amin's contribution to the field of Dependency Theory
Samir Amin, born in Cairo on 3.9.1931, passed away on 12.8.2018. A left-wing economist, he challenged neocolonialism and the negative effects of globalisation. Amin was a member of the French Communist Party, but later distanced himself from the Soviet model and for a time embraced Maoist ideals.
