Job: Student assistant (6 hours per week) at the Centre for African Studies Basel in the project "Learning for (Ex-)change"

The Centre for African Studies Basel at the University of Basel looks for a student assistant (6 hours/week) as part of the teaching project Learning for (Ex-)change.
Tasks
The successful candidate will assist the project coordinators at the University of Basel and the University of Namibia in planning, administration, organization and communication. The main task will be the co-organization of a Summer/Winter School in Namibia and Switzerland in June/July 2021. This will include travel management, collaboration and communication with partners in Switzerland and in Namibia and support in editing excursion reports.
Profile
Candidates must be registered students at the University of Basel, ideally in the final stages of their BA or beginning of their MA studies. We are looking for a motivated person with interests in international collaboration as well as the history and geography of rural Southern Africa. The successful candidate commits to actively take part in two excursions (two weeks each) to Southern Namibia and Eastern Switzerland in June/July 2021 and to take part in the preparatory seminar in Spring 2021. Very good English (oral and written) as well as basic German language skills are required.
Position
We offer a position in an interdisciplinary, international and lively environment. This student assistant position with six hours per week is scheduled to start on 1 December 2020 and is limited to one year. The general University regulations for student assistants apply.
