Shifts in global funding priorities and evolving political dynamics are creating new challenges for Africa’s policy research landscape. African public policy research institutes are central to shaping development agendas offering evidence-based recommendations, driving critical policy reforms, and amplifying local perspectives on key socio-economic issues. However, limited domestic support and changing donor commitments threaten the sustainability of these institutions.
The Alliance for African Partnership (AAP), in collaboration with the African Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI), invites you to a timely Public Dialogue exploring the future of Africa’s public policy research institutes. This session seeks to unpack the critical role of African policy research institutes can play in responding to the continents pressing challenges. It will also explore what options exist for the sustainability of African policy institutes in a changing landscape of disappearing international funding.
