This conference brings together scholars from around the world, many of whom have a pastoralist background, to discuss the most pressing challenges pastoralist communities face today, as well as possible ways forward. In particular, the conference will focus on issues related to climate change, development interventions, and state-society relations.

The conference consists of an in-person workshop, where participants will work through these issues in depth, and a public panel discussion, where key insights will be shared and discussed with a broader audience and relevant stakeholders.
