Job: Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Centre of Governance and Human Rights (CGHR), an inter-disciplinary research centre within the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS), is seeking to appoint a full-time postdoctoral researcher associate (RA) for a two-year period, starting in January 2024 to work on applied research closely connected to the theme of technology, human rights and democracy.

The Research Associate will be an integral member of the CGHR team and will be expected to pursue an independent but related applied research agenda (60%) as well as to work with the co-directors on convening scholar-practitioner events and networks related to the technology, human rights and democracy theme and to collaborate on practitioner-related outputs (40%). The RA's research agenda will be expected to align with the technology, human rights and democracy theme. Applicants should furthermore have experience with applied research in this area, whether this is action research, design-led research, or another type of applied research.

Candidates should hold a PhD in a relevant social science discipline, or computer science with a strong interdisciplinary social science element, and should have a research record in line with their career stage. They should also have excellent communication skills and experience working in a team as well as independently. Past participation in strategic development of applied research is desirable.
