General theme “Sustainability and Transformation”

The Swiss Society for African Studies celebrates its 50th anniversary. In this context, the two concepts, sustainability and transformations, may be understood broadly and can be addressed from all angles and points of view. 

Program

The rich program features a keynote, nine panels, and a special plenary session celebrating 50 years of African Studies in Switzerland. The lunch breaks provide space for poster sessions. Please download the preliminary program. The program will be updated shortly listing the individual presentations.

Posters

A number of posters were submitted - there is space for some more. If you are a PhD student at a Swiss university or recently completed your PhD on a topic related to Africa at a Swiss university and would like to present your work in the form of a poster, please contact Veit Arlt (veit.arlt@unibas.ch).

General assembly of the SSAS/SGAS/SSEA

The 50th general assembly of the society will be held in the framework of the Swiss Researching Africa Days on Friday evening 25 October 2024.
