Minister Project: Call for Participation
In order to better understand the processes behind government formation and political instability and to contribute to finding solutions for peaceful conflict resolution in Africa, we would like to kindly ask for your support for a project being led by the Political Science Institute at the University of Zurich.
The purpose of the “Minister Project” is to collect data on the region of origin and mother tongues of current and past members in African governments.
Why should you participate?
- All of the final data will be at your disposal once the paper is finished.
- Since this project is based on understanding and creating peaceful solutions for conflict resolution, it could be beneficial to your social science research.
- Many universities have staff that have study different areas of the world. Therefore, if there are any professors or researchers who have extensive knowledge the information we are looking for, it would be extremely useful to us.
How can you participate?
We are looking for participants with knowledge of the region of origin of any current or past members in African governments.
If either you, anyone working at the University of Basel, or an acquaintance have such knowledge, please go tohttp://kai-gehring.net/minister.php. Once there, fill out the google form pertaining to the correct country and decade.
This process should take less than five minutes and has the option of anonymity (simply do not fill in the “Name” field in order to remain anonymous). Should you or your Embassy choose to include your name, you/it will be accredited in the final paper.
