The Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) invites researchers to submit proposals for the upcoming International Colloquium "Challenging Conflict Research in Africa: Epistemological, theoretical and methodological issues" in the following thematic tracks:

• Identities, historicities, alterity
• Broadening the field ofobservation
• The voice of fire that is heard, hear the voice of water

by 1 October 2021. The 500-word proposal should indicate the chosen focus and the title of the paper and include a summary of the context and problem. A biographical note indicating the author's discipline and institutional affiliation is also required.
