Konzert: Swiss Jazz Orchestra & Kesivan Naidoo & Adrian Mears
Kesivan Naidoo is a fascinating voice on drums with an unerring sense of sound and dramaturgy. He manages to absorb and channel the energies of an entire hall and then turn the room, the audience and, on particularly good evenings, the entire universe upside down. Kesivan Naidoo is one of South Africa's most distinguished drummers, he played with the legends of the scene as a teenager and toured Europe and America regularly. In 2015, he became the first South African participant to be named to the Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors program. For several years, he has had his center of life in Basel. Now he has had his music arranged for big band for the first time - and the Swiss Jazz Orchestra (SJO) will premiere this program. Adrian Mears, himself a spectacular musician of international standing, is responsible for the arrangements, the directing the band and probably also the one or other trombone solo.
