Musik ist ein zentrales Element des Alltags in vielen Ländern Afrikas. Am Zentrum für Afrikstudien Basel bleibt es nicht bei der Forschung, vielmehr sind Konzerte und Workshops in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Jazz Club the bird's eye, dem Jazzcampus und der Kaserne Basel Teil der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit des Zentrums.
