Call for Reviewers: Partnerships for Innovative Research in Africa (PIRA)

Alliance for African Partnership (AAP), Michigan State University

The Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) is calling for peer reviewers for proposals under its Partnerships for Innovative Research in Africa (PIRA) grant program. The call for PIRA proposals went out in mid-September 2020, and proposals are due last week of November 2020.

Proposals are expected in four funding categories: Youth Transformation, Africa-Asia Transformation, Early Career Researchers and Global African Diaspora. Each proposal will be addressing at least one of the AAP’s priority areas, which are: agri-food systems; water, energy, and the environment; culture; youth empowerment; education; and health and nutrition.

The peer review approach brings together diverse individuals who can provide fair, expert, and unbiased evaluation of proposals. The peer review process will take approximately two weeks. Reviewers will be selected according to their field(s) of expertise to examine proposals electronically for two weeks and submit their review scores based on templates that will be provided by AAP. Reviewers will receive compensation.

Deadline for application: 30 November 2020
