«I will be different every time – Schwarze Frauen in Biel. Femmes Noires à Bienne. Black Women in Biel»
The Feminist Salon will open its doors at Kaserne Basel in January 2021. Intellectual, provocative, political, funny, radical, affective and thought-provoking evenings focussing on queer-feminist ideas are to be held once a month. Katha Baur, Caroline Faust, Franca Schaad and Franziska Schutzbach are the organisers of the Feminist Salon Basel.
The first salon of the new year features a presentation of the book «I will be different every time - Schwarze Frauen in Biel. Femmes Noires à Bienne. Black Women in Biel».The book explores a piece of «Black History» in Switzerland. Through their own narratives, biographies, ways of thinking, perspectives and life-worlds, it shines a spotlight on the lives of women who are rarely mentioned or recognised in Switzerland.
