Workshop: "Usakos – Making of Common History"
Based on the project "Usakos – Making of Common History", a workshop is being held at the Bernisches Historisches Museum, in collaboration with The Museums Association of Namibia.
The project "Usakos – Making of Common History" is a collaboration with representatives of the community of origin of an ethnographic collection preserved in the Bernisches Historisches Museum from a problematic colonial context. The preliminary project currently underway focuses on joint research into the collection and the establishment of a partnership.
In the workshop, The Museums Association of Namibia (MAN) together with Bernisches Historisches Museum (BHM) – aim at an object-focused discussion of an ethnographic collection preserved in the museum, stemming from the violent colonial context of the genocide in Namibia 1904-1908.
